Tegoroczny Caffe Jazz był troszkę inny, ale to nie znaczy że gorszy. Ba! Był lepszy, a nawet najlepszy, choć w porównaniu do poprzednich edycji był troszkę uboższy, choć dotyczy to tylko słońca...

Było mniej załóg co można odczytać negatywnie i pozytywnie - pozytywnie bo było mniej awarii prądu i więcej gorzałki, a negatywnie bo zameldowało się mniej naszych starych dobrych znajomych którzy nie mogli być z nami fizycznie bo patrzyli już na nas z niebiańskich campingów. Było w odrobinę innym miejscu, ale za to był namiot chroniący od deszczu i zimna których w tym roku nie zabrakło. Było bardziej romantycznie , ale za to bardziej romantycznie-jazzowo. Było jak w 2025 a nie jak w 2024, ale za to wciąż byliśmy tam razem... Był nawet Janusz, choć kosztowało go to więcej niż możemy sobie wyobrazić...

Było cudnie, choć szkoda że tak krótko. Było jeszcze bardziej wszechstronnie, bardziej otwarcie, bardziej bogato. Były gwiazdy (choć ewidentnie w sobotę nie sprzyjała im pogoda), były lokalne talenty gospel które w piosenkach niosły radość z życia i morał przemijania, były sławy i prawie bezimienni pasjonaci. Wszysyskich - co najważniejsze; po obu stronach estrady - połączyła miłość do muzyki i radość życia. I o to chodziło! Ten podstawowy cel został osiągnięty bezapelacyjnie!!!

Za rok (jeśli Organizatorzy podejmą się tego zupełnie irracjonalnego wysiłku i zorganizuja kolejną edycję) pojawię się z większą ilością przyjaciół i znajomych. Zabiorę mamę, kuzynkę, szwagierkę a nawet listonosza do którego podobny jest mój syn, aby podzielić się z nimi tą radością płynącą nie tylko ze sceny, ale i z piosenek przy ognisku między kamperami. Choć przyznam że piołunówka otępiła nieco moje zdolności postrzegania tego wieczoru...

Podsumowując: impreza przednia, w zasadzie jedyna stała w moim kalendarzu. Organizacja godna patrona bankrutów - kasy nie było, a na wszytko wystarczyło... Nawet na dodatkowy kurs PKS-u po zaspanych (zaspanych???) artystów. Program artystyczny (choć jako cham z prowincji nie mam prawa się wypowiadać) w mojej opinii na tyle szeroki i zróżnicowany że każdemu przypasował. No, może za wyjątkiem wielbicieli Zenka M... Scena, oświetlenie, nagłośnienie, obsługa, kawa, kibelki, woda, energia, śniadanka - pełna profeska!!! Nie, no tu przegiąłem; to nie była profeska, to był profesjonalizm. Nie brakowało niczego i niczego nie było za dużo. To był Festiwal Caffe Jazz 2025

It’s no secret how President Donald Trump feels about sports teams turning away from Native American mascots. He’s repeatedly called for the return of the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians, claiming their recent rebrands were part of a “woke” agenda designed to erase history.

But one surprising team has really gotten the president’s attention: the Massapequa Chiefs.

The Long Island school district has refused to change its logo and name under a mandate from New York state banning schools from using team mascots appropriating Indigenous culture. Schools were given two years to rebrand, but Massapequa is the lone holdout, having missed the June 30 deadline to debut a new logo.

The district lost an initial lawsuit it filed against the state but now has the federal government on its side. In May, Trump’s Department of Education intervened on the district’s behalf, claiming the state’s mascot ban is itself discriminatory.

Massapequa’s Chiefs logo — an American Indian wearing a yellow feathered headdress — is expected to still be prominently displayed when the fall sports season kicks off soon, putting the quiet Long Island hamlet at the center of a political firestorm.

The district is now a key “battleground,” said Oliver Roberts, a Massapequa alum and the lawyer representing the school board in its fresh lawsuit against New York claiming that the ban is unconstitutional and discriminatory.

The Trump administration claims New York’s mascot ban violates Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits recipients of federal funds from engaging in discriminatory behavior based on race, color or national origin — teeing up a potentially precedent-setting fight.

The intervention on behalf of Massapequa follows a pattern for a White House that has aggressively applied civil rights protections to police “reverse discrimination” and coerced schools and universities into policy concessions by withholding federal funds.

“Our goal is to assist nationally,” Roberts said. “It’s us putting forward our time and effort to try and assist with this national movement and push back against the woke bureaucrats trying to cancel our country’s history and tradition.”
